Family home evening begins every week by telling the kids to PUT DOWN their books and pay attention - true story. This last Monday was no exception. I was tired, Cameron had loads of homework to do and quite honestly, we didn't want to bother with FHE. Fortunately, our kids enjoy FHE with all it's ups and downs. Makayla gave out the prayer assignment and Jarin played the piano as we sang A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief. Not the most uplifting title, but an amazing hymn nonetheless and the piano music is so beautiful. Cam gave a short lesson on family unity and took us all to Smith's for ice cream cones. Kerri felt jilted out of her game - she was in charge - until we found a bin full of balls. Our family (yes, I started it) began throwing balls at one another and being naughty. After a few minutes, an employee (he looked like the manager), kindly asked up to pick up the balls that were rolling down the aisles before we left. I am sure 5 kids and 2 adults throwing balls in the grocery store was not a welcome site. The ball throwing continued until we heard a POP! We all looked down and beheld this.....
Cameron shook his head and mumbled, "I bet that's the most expensive ball in there."
It was.
A whole whopping $6.99.
The cashier was thoughtful enough to direct us to costumer service to exchange the popped ball for a new one. We assured him that we wanted to buy this one.
And that's what FHE is all about!
