Hoogle Zoo

Every year Rio Tinto/Kennecott hosts an event for their employees and families.  It was held at the Rio Tinto Real Soccer Stadium the last two years, which was totally fun.  This year it was at the Hoogle Zoo.  Rio Tinto reserved the zoo just for us.  We got to enjoy all the yummy food/treats we could stuff into our bellies, t-shirts and hats, animal exhibits, face painting, carousel rides, train rides and lots of wild animals.  Makayla went to Youth Conference and Jarin went on his first overnight Scouting trip that same night so we missed them.  Since our family was small in number we adopted Zack for Trevor to chum with.  No one got lost.  The four kids had a total blast!  The parents did too.

Brilliant Blue

The evening of the 26th felt magical with the deep blue hue the sky was giving off.  It was striking.  Cameron and I just sat on the grass and enjoyed the view.

Ward Campout

We headed up Spanish Fork Canyon for the 24th of July for some camping and Pioneer games with our ward neighbors.  The majority of the boys hung out in our trailer playing card games.  The girls participated in crafts while Makayla hung out with Criddle (Alex).  It was a fun weekend.

Viva La Vida

Out of our five promising pianists, Jarin is the fun one to film and tease.  Even his teacher, we call her Sister Robinson,  joins in on the fun and writes lyrics to different pieces to motivate the kids to practice.  A long time piece that is sung often in our home is called Jarin's Underwear.  When Jarin finds music he loves, he will play and practice nothing else.  When this happens Sister Robinson writes life threatening notes to Jarin if he doesn't practice the 'boring' songs FIRST!  He recently finished Viva La Vida.

Family Camping

The Christensen Family Reunion was up Ephraim canyon this year.  It was fun with a small fishing lake, muddy hiking trails, biking, games and a nice walk down memory lane at Snow College.

Trevor caught his first fish right off on the first day.  It took Jarin two days and many hours to catch his meal.
