Star Week

I don't know many mothers who do flips when it is their child's week to spot light.  Me, I groan cheer and wait until the last minute to buy a poster to make my child shine.  Thank goodness for digital cameras and printers.  This year I stored a year supply of poster paper downstairs dedicated just for school projects.  When Kerri and Rebekah's spot light weeks drew near, I asked the girls if we could do ONE poster for the two of them.  Hey, they're twins - we can so get away with one poster.
No way!
They have been anticipating their shining moment for months.  With three older kids and a dozen star posters already under my belt, I armed myself and took a different approach.
We made reusable posters!
Trevor is the one who suggested it when it was his star week.
He said, "Mom, let's just use last year's poster and glue a new picture on it."
Hey!  I love that idea!  I did a flip.

Rebekah, Kerri and I designed their posters to be used for the next four years - fingers crossed.

Best Friends!

They are so cute together!
Twins are SO much fun!

Monkey See - Monkey Do

Call me nutty. I have a new blog. It's not that I have a lack of things to do. I just want to create and keep track of my fun stuff without bombarding our family blog. So come take a peek and click on Monkey see - Monkey Do. If I see it and love it - I'll do it.

Super Bowl XLIV

We first began watching the Super Bowl in 2005 when we lived in Washington and the Seahawks played the Steelers.  It was a big deal and we made it a big deal in our little family.  Our feast has consisted of a variety of samples through the years.  Four yummies have remained the same to date - Doritos, Jones Soda, wrapped smokies and brownie bites.  I may have outdone myself with the meat balls this year - they were a hit.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
12 oz jar Chili Sauce
1
10 oz jar grape jelly
2 lb frozen meatballs
Combine jelly and chili sauce in a crock pot an stir until smooth.  Heat the mixture if needed to combine.  Add meatballs and set temperature to low.  Cook for 2-5 hours on low.

Hugs

Rebekah came up to me with a single tear in her eye and said, "Mom, do you know why I am hugging this picture? It's because I miss Lica and Lico."

Children truly are precious gifts from God.
I am blessed.
Thank you.

Why Boys Need Mamas

Trevor: Mom, we need a garbage in our room so that we can keep it clean.
Garbage inches away from their new home.

Mom: Make sure your pajamas are put away.
At least Jarin's bottoms made it half way in.

Mom: Make your beds!
Mom: Um, it's only half made!
Trevor: No, it's 3/4 made.

Mom: Please hang up your scout shirt.
Trevor: You told me to hang it - you didn't say where.
Mom: You've got to be kidding me!

Bathroom garbage....
Honestly, is it that hard?
