A year ago we decided to plan the famous LDS Church History tour across the United States and visit Lica and Lico in Virginia. We prepped our family in the art of car manners, staying hydrated, and enduring sore bums for many months. Cameron researched all the hotels and the kids helped plan the agenda. Despite the groans of having to sit next to one another for hours and hours and days and days, the kids were really excited. We left a week before school was officially out for the summer so that we could be back in time for Makayla to go to Young Women's camp. Our twenty day adventure felt like it was only 20 minutes by the time we made it home - it was that great!
Here's day one.....
1. First day on the road of the our Church History/American History journey.
2. It only took 11 hours in the Suburban and four stops.
3. Second stop was at a visitor center in Nebraska.
4. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte, Nebraska.
5. Kids went swimming and we ate yummy cold sloppy joes for dinner.
6. 581 miles down, 4400 miles to go - thank you GPS (aka. Geepers).
